Description

The center pipes inside the radial flow reactors are used for flow

During the design and manufacturing phases, we implemented control procedures to enhance process efficiency.

  • To ensure a high open area for the wedge wire screen, we employed a combination of precise dimensional calculations, advanced manufacturing processes, and strict dimensional control of the overall assembly (e.g., the flow distribution system).

  • To ensure the axis remains perfectly aligned during installation, we used a laser controller to verify perpendicularity at every stage of production.

Application: Gas purification, reforming, CCR (Continuous Catalytic Reforming), ammonia conversion, styrene.

Design based on your application

The connecting nozzle to the center pipe/inner screen can be positioned at the upper or lower end, with the flow direction either inward or outward.

Design Parameters

Process parameters:

Gas flow and pressure drop through the catalyst are essential to define the outer diameter, length, and the distribution system, including perforation percentage or deflector shape.

Mechanical parameters:

Catalyst weight, additional axial load (F), radial load (ΔP), and design temperature are needed for the mechanical design.

Internals for Radial Flow Reactors

A radial reactor is a type of reactor where the gas flow direction is perpendicular to the axial direction of the equipment. It is commonly used for gas-solid catalytic reactions, as well as for non-catalytic reactions. As the reaction gas flows through the particle bed in a radial reactor, the large cross-sectional flow area, low flow velocity, and short flow path contribute to its key characteristic: a minimal pressure drop.
We manufacture critical components such as center pipes, scallops, and outer baskets for radial flow reactor vessels. We strictly adhere to ASME code requirements for carbon content in materials designed for high-temperature operation, ensuring the reliable and efficient performance of radial flow reactors.
